Q. Why should I choose Azure Web Works?

A. At Azure Web Works, we take the time to familiarize ourselves with our customers and their business. We want your site to represent not only what you have to offer your customers, but to reflect who you are.

We don't mass produce generic web sites; we put a personal touch on every site we create. After all, your site represents who you are and what you do. It is your presence on the Internet. We endeavor to make your site both professional and inviting; Pleasing to the eye, yet easy to navigate.

Q. Can I update my site on a regular basis?

A. Yes, we offer several alternatives for updating a website, based on the needs of the client and the regularity of the updates.

For small changes, such as text modifications, or replacing an image, there is no charge for the first year as they are covered by our basic site maintenance.

If information contained on the website (such as text, images and other media) will need to be constantly updated, we also offer administrable sections. Through our easy to use administration system the client is able to quickly (and without any additonal charge) change the content in some sections. Common administrable sections which are often requested are: news, marquees, product catalogs, image galleries. Our online shops include this function so the owners can keep their products updated and controlled.

If the webpage needs a major change, or one that involves modification the of the web site layout, we will give you a quote for the work based on how much time is required to make the changes.

Finally, we offer maintenance plans that allow a client to do as many changes as they want, large or small.

Q. Why does my business need a web site?

A. With ever increasing numbers of people connected to the Internet, having a business presence online is increasingly important. People enjoy the convenience of comparing prices, warranties, and checking availability before they ever enter a store. They save time, effort and travel by deciding what they want before they ever leave their home, and even more time if they are able purchase the items online. Many people now turn to Google and other search engines to locate goods and services the way they reached for the phone book in the past.

Q. What do I need to have a web site?

A. A website requires three things: a domain name, hosting, and the content.

Q. What is a Domain Name?

A. The Domain Name is a unique name registered in the global domain name system. Every website has a numeric address (IP) that allows the browser (such as Internet Explorer) to connect with it. As in the phone system, this unique number contains information about the physical location of this website and when "called" it connects you to the site. However, as these numbers are long and difficult to remember, a unique domain name is used instead, for example; 'www.azurewebworks.com'. Once this name is entered into a browser, it is looked up in the global domain name system which informs the computer of the numerical address(es) of that name, so the browser can connect and open the website.

Q. What is hosting?

A. The documents that conform a website need to be accessible to the public all the time. The hosting is the place where these documents are physically stored. While its possible to turn our own personal computers into hosting for our webpages, we would face some limitations, especially with the connection speeds, as a website requires high speeds for handling simultaneous users, plus the work of setting up and maintaining a server. Our packages include hosting in dedicated servers with high speed connections that are online 24/7, with a 99.9% uptime guarantee, at a very convenient price.
